Bringing art to domestic helpers. The aim of this project is to offer affordable art workshops for domestic helpers.  This group of people are rarely considered by wider society, yet they are an integral and vital part of life for many people in Hong Kong.

 

The benefits of participating in creative activities are well known and documented.  Although there are many art activities on offer in Hong Kong, many are far beyond the financial reach of low income workers, such as domestic helpers.

I plan to offer workshops that are either free or very low cost to domestic helpers. Hopefully, the workshops will provide the opportunity to learn and develop skills, spend time being creative for themselves and build community.  I will initially offer these in Sai Kung, which is where I live and a community I am well connected with.
